Tug Of War – Soulfire

Occasionally you come across something that is just……well, great!
This is one of those times.

The album Soulfire was released on the 22nd Feb through Escape Music
Canadian singer BK Morrison started posting some videos on Youtube singing to various tracks in his living room. Swedish guitarist, Tommy Denander was watching and contacted Morrison about a project. The two became friends. Tommy had already written a whole bunch of great songs that just suited Morrison’s rock voice.

Morrison flew to Stockholm and recorded his vocals at the famous old EMI/Abbey Road Stockholm studio where Tommy worked.

The story goes that Tommy played the album for Khalil Turk at Escape Music who really liked it and a deal was done.
The album features people like Chris Ousey, Bill Champlin (Chicago) and Joseph Williams (Toto) on backing vocals, Billy Orrico on drums and Brian Anthony on bass.
If you like Coverdale, Marx, and Gramm with a bluesy Whitesnake all round feel, you’re going to enjoy this.
